Letter From the Principal
Update: Thursday 19th March 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your continued understanding in these strange and uncertain times.
We took the decision to close the school on Tuesday because of the large and increasing number of staff who needed to self-isolate. There are no confirmed cases of the virus in school. Please check the website and your email for further updates throughout the closure period.
We are currently working through the implications of the announcements last night by the Secretary of State regarding provision for pupils of key workers and those with an EHCP as well as the cancellation of the May and June public exams for Year 11 and Year 13 pupils. We will post an update by the end of this week.
Communication during closure
Work is up on the MLE and in case of any queries please email this address which is checked daily:
Please direct any general queries to this address which is also checked daily:
We have also prepared the attached PowerPoint which we would appreciate you talking through at home alongside the work we have set on FROG for the pupils.
Free School Meals
If your household is on our list as being currently eligible for Free School Meals we are preparing supermarket vouchers to send to your home. As you can imagine the supermarkets are currently under unprecedented pressure, however, we are working closely with Sainsbury’s to prepare vouchers at the value of £25 for you as quickly as possible. This is our contribution towards buying food for your child, at £2.50 per day, for 10 weekdays from Monday 23rd March to Friday 3rd April 2020, which takes us up to the Easter school holidays.
Best wishes to all our families at this time and I assure you out of sight is not out of mind and we are thinking and planning carefully to support you in all the ways we can.
