Pimlico Students support First Give charities
Year 7 students learned about volunteering, helping the community, and how to support and raise money for charities, at a special assembly run by First Give.
First Give is a charity which works in partnership with secondary schools to help and encourage young people to use their talent and tenacity to support their community.
Among the charities supported by the event were:
- The Cardinal Hume Centre, which strives to bring people out of homelessness and poverty;
- Arthur Rank House, a hospice charity based in Cambridgeshire which supports people with life-limiting illnesses;
- Greenhouse Sports, which helps young people realise their potential through support;
- Waterloo Food Bank, which provides emergency food packages to people in need in the Waterloo area.
Pimlico Academy has a long-standing partnership with First Give. This is in line with our ethos and vision, Libertas per cultum (Freedom through Education), which encourages helping others, and providing education for all.
