PwC led a business programme at Pimlico Academy

Volunteers from leading professional services firm PwC, came to Pimlico Academy last week to run a programme for a number of year 9 students.
The students were split into two teams; each team represented a company which had to design, develop, cost and market a new mobile phone.
The students were all given a key senior role in their companies, and each role was assigned a mentor from PwC to advise them. The two teams then presented their products to the Headteacher and senior executives from PwC, including Laura Hinton, the Head of People at PwC UK.
Being part of the programme run by PwC allowed students to gain an understanding of the world of work, and develop their business acumen.
The programme was run thanks to the links the Raising Aspirations team have been developing with leading firms such as PwC. Raising Aspirations is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to enter the workforce, to understand their strengths and weaknesses, and make effective choices about their future.
